The Timber Finance Initiative is pleased to announce the membership of Timbatec.

The next timber structure generation is here! – TS3

The innovative Timber Structures 3.0 technology (TS3) glues timber components made of solid, glulam or cross laminated timber together on the face side. This allows point-supported, multi-axis load-bearing slabs or folded structures to be created in any shape and size. This opens up constructive and design worlds that were previously inaccessible to timber construction.

First timber basement in apartment house in Thun

The first multi-family house with a basement and floor made of wood was built in Thun. The construction industry must significantly reduce its CO₂ emissions in order to comply with the Paris climate agreement. This can only be achieved by eliminating steel and concrete in high-rise construction. Timbatec is happy to accept this challenge. Timbatec has already been consistently eliminating concrete from storey ceilings since 2014. The next logical step is the elimination of concrete in basements and floors. Today this is a reality: Timbatec has built the first basement completely out of wood.
