We are a larhge froup of people who powered movement fighting for a green and peaceful future for your land, forest, ocenas, foods, climate and pass the green earth to our children. Each one of us can make small changes in our lives, but together we can change the world.
Donate NowThe Obama administration just granted Shell’s final permit to drill in the Alaskan Arctic this summer despite overwhelming global public opposition and the obvious risks to Arctic communities, wildlife, and our climate. But this isn’t over. The President knows what’s at stake: his climate legacy.
Act Now!Timber is rapidly gaining importance as a Carbon Dioxide Removal Technology (CDR). Sustainably managed forests and timber construction are the most efficient way to extract CO2 from the atmosphere and store it long-term. Mass Timber has the potential to make a significant contribution to combating climate change.
We promote the knowledge exchange and networking between the forest and timber industry and the financial market through the development of CO2 methodologies, whitepapers, a Knowledge Hub, trainings and advisory services.
Around 40% of global CO2 emissions currently stem from the construction industry. Mass timber can change that.
Timber Finance advises the public sector and private real estate investors on the implementation and development of their timber construction strategy as part of their Net-Zero commitments. We support our client’s tenders for large timber construction projects and assist the timber procurement process.
Investors are currently concentrating on reducing CO2 through projects in the field of afforestation and forest protection. But this is only the beginning of a whole value chain of CO2-friendly investment opportunities: Through the sustainable management of forests, we can generate harvests that flow into the circular timber industry. By harvesting wood and using these materials in construction, we can efficiently replace carbon-intensive materials such as steel and concrete.
Timber construction can store CO2 cost-effectively in the long term and at the same time improve the general health of our forests and promote their CO2 storage capacity. Sustainable timber construction means that our forest is preserved and that the excess wood is stored in our buildings for the long term every year. In this way we keep the CO2 storage capacity of our forest and with our houses we create a second “built forest”, which considerably expands the entire CO2 storage capacity of the planet.
Thanks to our deep understanding of the timber industry and our financial expertise, we enable companies in the timber industry to access the capital markets. We are creating a marketplace for CO2-storing buildings with the aim of directing investments into a CO2-neutral industry.
