Ombudsman’s Office

Timber Finance Management AG (TFM) is affiliated with an independent ombudsman office, which is recognized by the Federal Department of Finance. Disputes concerning legal claims between the customer and the financial services provider should be settled by an ombudsman’s office, if possible, within the framework of a mediation procedure. Client segmentation

Financial service providers are required to classify their customers into a client segmentation as legally established. The Financial Services Act provides for «retail customers», «professional customers» and «institutional customers» segments. For each customer, a customer classification is determined within the framework of the cooperation with Timber Finance Management. Subject to certain conditions, the customer may change the customer classification by opting in or opting out.

Regulatory Status

With the new Financial Institutions Act (FINIG), all financial institutions will require a license from FINMA to carry out their professional activities as asset managers. Timber Finance Management AG received approval on 11.09.2023.

The current investment advisory services are provided by our managing director Erik Reichmuth, who is registered in the BX Swiss advisor registry.

Erik has held a number of roles at various asset managers over the past 11 years. He worked as a portfolio manager at Multi-Family Offices and as Head of Operations at a joint venture between Julius Baer and Nomura. In addition to his wealth management background, Erik has worked as both CFO and COO in startups. Erik’s family has been managing forests sustainably for over four generations and as a result he has close ties to the forest sector. Combining his passion for forestry and finance is a dream come true. Erik Reichmuth is registered in the advisor register of BX Swiss AG under Registration ID: ER16566 and fulfills the legal requirements according to Art. 29 para. 1 FIDLEG.

Risk notice

Performance

A positive performance (performance) in the past is no guarantee for a positive performance in the future. TFM and its counterparties therefore cannot guarantee that the capital invested will maintain (or even increase) its value, and investors must be willing or able to accept any substantial losses or even total losses. When calculating performance, any fees and costs (e.g. commissions and costs charged on the subscription and redemption of fund units) levied on the purchase, holding or sale of the financial product are not taken into account.
